Unethical medicine practice's in kenya

The Pharmacy and Poisons Board conducted raids in parts of Nairobi to weed out quacks from the practice of pharmacy.

The level of illegal practices in low income settings was shockingly. In one neighbourhood pharmacies offering medicines were manned by untrained and unqualified personell.

In the pretext of offering Mpesa services some shop attendants only had form four leaving certificates. Some had personnel trained for other medical services retailing medicines.

In one bizzar case a young man whose only knowledge of pharmacy was a claim that he has registered to undertake a certificate in pharmacy had a fully stocked chemist shop.

As the raid went on, one could count numerous shops that had been closed, perhaps after getting wind that the raid was afoot.
